video demonstrating the installation of Filter bags in BFOS bag filter housing accomanied by an animation of unfiltered liquid flowing into the system in turn increasing the reading on the pressure gauge before articles are removed by the filter bag and filtered liquid flows out. Accesories such as vent valves and pressure gauge variations are then shown towards the end of the video.

Reliable, Cost-Effective Liquid Filtration for Industrial Applications

The BFOS2-10-G50-A2 bag filter housing delivers robust, efficient liquid filtration for medium-flow industrial processes. Engineered for Size 2 (7" diameter) filter bags, this stainless steel housing combines durability with ease of operation, making it ideal for chemical processing, water treatment, and general industrial applications.

Key Features & Benefits

Rapid Filter Bag Changes The swing bolt closure system allows tool-free bag changes in under 2 minutes, minimizing downtime and labour costs. No need for specialised tools or lengthy maintenance procedures - simply release the bolts, lift the lid, and replace the bag.

Industrial Grade Stainless Steel Construction Manufactured from 304 stainless steel, the corrosion resistant construction ensures long service life even with aggressive media.

Versatile Flow Capacity Accommodating Size 2 filter bags (7" x 32" length), this housing handles flow rates up to 600lpm depending on your chosen micron rating and viscosity. This flexibility allows you to optimise filtration efficiency without investing in multiple housing sizes.

Secure, Leak-Free Operation The precision-machined sealing surfaces and silicone O-ring create a reliable seal rated to 10 bar (145 PSI) working pressure. Standard basket support prevents bag collapse under high differential pressure, ensuring consistent filtration performance throughout the bag's service life.

Technical Specifications

  • Housing Material: 304 Stainless Steel
  • Maximum Working Pressure: 10 bar (145 PSI)
  • Maximum Operating Temperature: 80°C
  • Connection Size: 2" BSP inlet/outlet
  • Compatible Bag Sizes: Size 2 (7" diameter x 32" length)
  • Closure Type: Swing bolt with Viton O-ring seal
  • Optional Accessories: Differential pressure gauge, automatic air vent, drain valve, housing opening tool, magnet assembly

Common Applications

Water Treatment Effective for pre-filtration before RO systems, post-treatment polishing, and process water conditioning. Protects downstream equipment from particulate damage while maintaining consistent water quality.

Chemical Processing Handles a wide range of chemical media including acids, alkalis, and solvents (when paired with chemically compatible filter bags). The robust construction withstands harsh chemical environments while maintaining filtration integrity.

Paints, Coatings & Inks Removes agglomerates and contaminants from liquid coatings, ensuring smooth application and superior finish quality. Available in various micron ratings to match your product specifications.

Cooling Water & Lubrication Systems Protects pumps, heat exchangers, and precision machinery from wear and fouling. Extended bag life reduces maintenance frequency and operational costs.

How It Works

  1. Liquid enters through the 2" BSP inlet connection and flows into the housing
  2. Contaminants are captured as the liquid passes through the filter bag media
  3. Clean liquid exits through the outlet connection while particles remain trapped in the bag
  4. When the bag reaches capacity (indicated by pressure differential), drain the vessel, bring it to atmospheric pressure, simply open the swing bolt closure, remove the spent bag, and install a fresh one

What's Included

  • BFOS2-10-G50-A2 stainless steel housing
  • Swing bolt closure assembly
  • Viton O-ring seal
  • Internal basket support
  • Installation and operation manual

Note: Filter bags sold separately. We recommend stocking multiple bags in your preferred micron rating to minimize downtime during bag changes.

Selecting the Right Filter Bag

This housing accepts Size 2 filter bags in various materials and micron ratings:

  • Polypropylene felt - Cost-effective, excellent for aqueous solutions, acids, and alkalis
  • Polyester felt - Superior chemical resistance and high-temperature capability
  • Nylon mesh - Absolute micron ratings for precise particle retention
  • Food-grade materials - FDA/EU compliant options for beverage and food contact applications

Why Choose This Housing?

Lower Total Cost of Ownership Bag filters offer significantly lower running costs compared to cartridge systems. Bags hold more contaminant, last longer, and cost less per unit, reducing both material and labour expenses.

Simple Maintenance No special tools or training required. The intuitive swing bolt design means any operator can perform bag changes safely and quickly.

Scalable Solution Start with a single housing and expand to multi-housing configurations as your flow requirements grow. The standardized Size 2 format ensures bag availability from multiple suppliers.

Proven Reliability Stainless steel bag housings are industry workhorses with decades of proven performance across thousands of installations worldwide.

Installation Considerations

  • Ensure adequate clearance above the housing for lid removal and bag changes (minimum 60cm recommended)
  • Install differential pressure gauge or pressure gauges before and after the housing to monitor differential pressure
  • Mount on a stable surface capable of supporting the full weight of the housing plus liquid
  • Provide drainage or collection beneath the housing for bag removal operations
  • Consider installing isolation valves for maintenance without system shutdown
